Madison Iseman Interview

Naluda Magazine   |   Written by Naluda Magazine

Our exclusive interview with 19 year old South Carolina native and multitalented young lady who has immersed herself in everything from a presence in television and film to digital content gorgeous Madison Iseman.

Madison will be seen starring in the CTM comedy series “Still The King,” as ‘Charlotte,’ a spunky, loving, and driven long lost daughter to ‘Vernon Brownmule’ (Billy Ray Cyrus). She meets her dad after he gets arrested and sentenced to return to his hometown as the church handyman.

Hi Madison please tell us a little about yourself?

Hi!! I’m 19 years old, and I’m from Myrtle Beach, SC. I grew up in South Carolina and moved to Los Angeles when I was 16 to pursue my dream of being an actor. I love cats, dark chocolate, and live music. I tend to stay away from mushrooms, colorful clothing, and anything with more than four legs. I’m pretty simple minded; it doesn’t take a lot to make me happy!

Describe yourself in 3 words?

Passionate, kind, and creative.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Right on the coast!

Who is your role model?

My role model is definitely my mom. She’s the strongest person I know with the kindest heart. I could never ask for a better role model.

How’s a typical day in your life?

The days I’m working I pretty much wake up, go to set, and come home and sleep. Days i’m off I usually wake up and go to the gym. Mid-day I will either hang out with friends, go to auditions, be lazy with my cat, or just go to the beach!

How did you got selected for the CTM comedy “Still The King”? And about your character Charlotte?

I booked “Still The King” after being seen for the role about four times. When I found out I booked it I was beyond excited. The first time I read the breakdown for Charlotte, I fell in love with the character. She’s not your average 15 years old. She’s a little off-beat and witty with a love for music. Her dream is to become a music journalist, and she won’t stop until she gets what she wants.

How is your relationship with the other cast members?

The other cast members are great. They’re all so talented and easy to work with. It made those long 12 hour work days go by so quick. Everyday on set was a great day.

Can you share something funny that’s happened to you while filming?

Oh gosh hahha, there were so many funny moments!! One of my favorite moments was the day we filmed the scene where Ronnie chugs an entire bottle of “syrup” (which was really sweet tea). Jon, who plays Ronnie, made a deal with our producer that for every take he had to chug a bottle of sweet tea off camera while Jon was. Of course there were about four or five takes, and there was sweet tea literally everywhere!! It was a very messy day full of non-stop laughs.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I feel like my style is constantly changing. Right now I definitely lean more toward boho chic. Super laid-back, but still put together.

Who is your biggest beauty inspiration?

100% Jennifer Anniston. Not even bound to “beauty”, she’s my biggest inspiration for health and fitness as well. I can only hope I look as good as her when I’m her age.

Name one beauty product you can’t live without?

My Naked smoky eye pallet!!! It’s the absolute best!

Favorite designers?

I’m always shopping at BCBG, TopShop, and Zara!

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 year?

I try not to think too much about where I want to be in the future, it always freaks me out, haha. But, I hope to be finding more and more success in my career and happy as can be!

What was the last book you read?

Currently I’m reading “The Good Luck of Right Now” by Matthew Quick. I’m not even halfway through, but it’s off to a good start! I’m constantly reading, I love it.

What are guilty pleasures food wise?

Pizza, pasta, garlic bread, carbs carbs carbs. And dark chocolate 🙂

What would be the dream holiday, and who would you go with?

Anywhere by the beach, I’m not picky, and with my parents and my brother. I don’t get to see them as much as I’d like to.

What are your hobbies?

I love to play guitar and sing! I also love to paint and read!

What do you do in your free time?

I’m either hanging out with friends, reading, or working out.

Who is your celebrity crush?

Ryan Reynolds, funny and sexy. 😉

What do you like to watch on Tv?

Right now my go to is Californication. I have to finish one show before I start the next!

Idea of a perfect Sunday?

Gym, then church, then home for some well deserved cuddle time with my cat.

Do you support any charities?

Start With One Kenya! They’re an amazing organization set in Kenya, Africa helping people get access to clean water and so much more! I started working with them my sophomore year when I took a trip to Africa for a mission trip. I instantly fell in love with them.

What do you think of Social Media?

I think social media has good and bad qualities. It’s an amazing tool to connect and network, but I’ve also seen it cause many problems in personal lives. I think it all depends on how you use it.

Drink: Water!!!! It’s the best medicine!

Music: Red Hot Chili Peppers, James Bay, Sylvan Esso, Vance Joy, and so many more. I love all kinds of music.

Sports Team: I don’t know a thing about sports… oops.

Quoting Madison

"I’ve always just loved the horror genre and scary movies. I don’t really know why. Ever since I was a little girl, they were always my favorite movies to watch. They are also one of my favorite movies to act in. There are just really no rules."
